As for the numbers.. his BUN is still within normal cat ranges, but it's on the high side. His creatinine hasn't changed since last time. It's still holding at 2.68. Again, for those of you just joining us, a creatine of 3.0 plants him in the chronic renal failure category. So... kitty stays on prescription phosphorus binder, and they still want me to feed him special kidney health prescription food.
I doubt he will ever recover any more kidney function than what he has, honestly. I mean, once you've lost it, that's pretty much it, right? I don't expect the numbers to go down from here, only up. So, I'm taking care of him as well as I am able. They told me they want to see him in another month for more bloodwork. I was going to riot if they asked me to come back again in 2 weeks, because taking him out there stresses him out so much. A month is ok, but we'll see what they want after that. Since I have basically accepted that he is in the early stages of chronic renal failure, I don't think it will do any good to keep checking and checking and checking. Once a year will tell us how fast he's crashing if he's still behaving normally and acting happy and stuff, right? >..<
He really can't help that his eyes light up with pure evil when he is photographed, either XD
Also- Comedy photo of Nugget. She doesn't actually clean down there, she just likes that pose -..-
