But I'm still on track. I finally signed up for the NaNo site. I wasn't really planning to, but you do funny things when you procrastinate. I'm about 1,222 ahead of where I needed to be for today, which is good. If I get far enough ahead, I can drop my 2k/day down a little bit and hopefully not stress out as much. I'm really hoping the ammount of story I have and the 50k deadline coincide. If the story isn't finished at 50k, I have no problem continuing. I'm just worried that my content will last that long. I have a few more locations planned and a few more scenes that I hope will take up the last part of the book. If I keep going at this rate, (provided I have enough content) I'll hit the 50k on Nov 30th no problem though.
The other question is.. if I hit 50k on Nov. 30th and the story ISN'T done, does that mean I lose? XD I see some people on the NaNo site that have such massive ammount writen already that they've "won" the challenge four times over already and they are still going. That's great. I can't produce that much. I'll get in a good little groove writing and writing until I've typed out 800 words and scarcely noticed it, but most of the time I'm agonizing over every 100 that land on the screen. It's not even that I don't know what happens next or how to write it. I keep trying to come up with the best way to get from point A to point B with the best words. I know this is all about quantity, not quality, so I'm doing my best to push through and just get the ideas down.
I'm not sure how much revision I'll get done before I let people read, though. I think I want to get a spellcheck on it and send the rough draft out to like 2-3 people so I know what kinds of things I should focus on for the first revision.
I don't think I'll persue publication or anything like that, but I am pretty excited to let my freinds read a story I wanted to tell, even if it's total crap :X
It occurs to me that I haven't really talked about the plot or anything, so I'll just copy the really short synopsis I slapped onto my NaNo page. The synopsis really does read like an awesomely schlocky YA novel, but that's probably what this is XD Sorry! There is no naked smokey Ron/Hermione making out in this book! (Yeah, I saw the new Harry Potter today. hurr hurr)
