Productivity... lawl?

I woke up feeling pretty crappy again today. It's like my body can't decide if it wants to be sick or not. I'm feeling really good this afternoon, though. I had a bowl of that really awesome Honey Almond Flax cereal from Kashi for breakfast, and for a late lunch, I had some of the HEB california rolls+ cold plum green tea. Oh... + 4 gummi worms XD

I think I've figured out how I'm going to do the flappy attachment, which makes me happy. I was worried about how I was going to do it earlier, but now I have it figured out. Unfortunately, that doesn't remedy the fact that I probably don't have the fabric I'll need when I get to that part. I can't go out and get it tonight, because Matt's vacation is over, and tonight is his first night back at work. So, I'll have to do what I can, and go out tomorrow. I also need to make some headway on that waist cincher. Without the waist cincher, the top won't stay put. It kind of makes me nervous now that I think about it. So maybe if I get things done in time, I'll sew some extra closures on the top. But yeah. Working on flappy thing tonight. After I figure out the mystery of the waist cincher trim, I'll work on that. I haven't figured out if I want to do white-on-black, or black-on white. It would be much easier to paint the black on the white. Though, I could probably heat'n'bond the white on black and it would be (in theory) less work, and more likely to be even. But that's a lot of work too. If I do white-on-black with the heat'n'bond, though, I don't have to measure the trim first. I can just sew black trim all around it and put the white on afterwards. The heat'n'bond won't have a lot of room for error, though, because if all the white dashes and dots don't line up, it'll look horrible. It's a tough choice.

I'm really happy with how that resin brooch turned out. I ended up having to dremel two big chunks out of the top, though, since I forgot I wanted that open. It didn't take too long to do that, though. I still haven't figured out how I want to attach it. According to the reference pics, it sits above the waist cincher, and under the boobs. That makes no sense from a sewing standpoint, because it LOOKS like an underbust, for all intents and purposes. I also think I'll get better boobs& a better silouette from it close under the bust. I think it comes down to Arshtat looking like she's a good two feet taller than me. My torso is not that long. I could attach the brooch directly to the waist cincher, or try wearing the cincher a little lower than under the bust, and jamming it in there somewhere. It's going to be easiest to attach it to the cincher somehow. Either way, though, I'm kinda stumped.

If I can get those two big stumbling blocks out of the way and make the sailor collar, the costume will be 90% finished. Argh

Yaaaay! The con is over! Time to get ready for the next one! Sometimes, twitter just cannot contain all the things I want to say about a subject.…

  • Oh wow, I haven't blogged in forever!

I kind of forget about Livejournal now. It feels so empty that I've joined a bunch of communities, but it's not really helping! Since November,…

  • November is almost over already?!?!

I've really enjoyed not having anything important to do for a while. I've been cleaning (a little bit), quilting (a lot, but in short bursts), and…
