They used a laser to cut my gums open and clean the area above that weird-feeling root canal. I'm glad that I wasn't smoking crack and there really was a problem up there. But smelling myself on fire for a half an hour made my stomach kinda woozy. After they finished singing and scraping out a burnt-out section of my gums, I got stitches and a vicodin prescription. I don't think I'll fill the pain med prescription, though, because I still have some lortab leftover from my oral surgery earlier this year. Matt says that they're both the same thing anyway. And I would have only considered filling the vicodin if it wouldn't make me nauseous. I had a huge problem with wanting to barf my guts out when I was on the lortab, so now I have to decide if the pain is worse than vomiting. And I hate throwing up, especially when there are things I'm supposed to keep clean in my mouth. T..T
Even if the pain does get really bad, I promised to visit
In the meantime, I think I'm going to work on my silk shirt for the Asshat costume. It's almost done. I just have to finish the sleeves. If one thing can be said for making sleeveless shirts, I hate making sleeveless shirts. I always get confused with what I can and can't stitch while I'm sewing down the lining. Because while you can tack down a sleeve lining no problem, I get considerably more confused with how things work on sleeveless shirts. And that leaves me with a perfect lining tacked down around the entirety of the garment, and two sleeve holes with no good idea on how to hem them. I was thinking about trying to fold it under and topstitch over it, but pinning it has been a nightmare. If I had box of awesome, I'd serge it and forget about it XD I'm thinking about just basting the raw edges together and putting bias tape over it, though. Tucking under=suck. I bet rolling it under will also be a nightmare. I hate you, sleeveholes.
I also painted the neckband last night. I thought I was very straight with marking out the lines to paint with my tape, but it didn't turn out as perfectly as I would have liked. And I think there may be a problem with I iron it flat. I may have to do the whole thing over again. I'm glad I decided to put it on top instead of sewing it into the top, though. I have the option of do-overs now instead of dealing with it since it's already sewn in.
Chances are, though, I'll just find a way to make it work. I spent all night painting it and don't really want to do it again.
