This jacket is taking too long XP

Last night, I finished the sleeves of the jacket and started on the boot covers. The jacket is really the bulk of the costume, and I've been getting really tired of working on it very quickly. Mostly because I am very lazy. And partly because I always procrastinate when I don't have a pattern to work from. Right now, all I have to do is make the yellow thing for the front, put a zipper in, and make the faux pocket flaps in the back. After putting it all together, though, I've decided that I'm really not that happy with the way the sleeves turned out, and I'm going to rip them out and re-draft the lambchop poof. I can do better, I know it. It's denim, so if I give it enough material, I shouldn't have to fortify it with rows of ruffled tulle on the inside to get it to stand up. I also don't think that tulle would really do much for it since it's a heavy fabric. But still. I don't think I gave the fabric enough room to poof at the top, so I'm going to redraft the whole thing and rip the sleeves out later tonight. Coupled with the 3+ back panels that I'd redone to get it to fit correctly across the shoulder blades, I think this jacket has more mulligans than anything else I've made O..o I just hope it looks good when I'm done.

The gloves are both done now, but they have a tendancy to warp out. I need to get them to hug my arms, so I'm going to try heating the foam and bending it. If the vinyl is streched too taught, though, I might not be able to do much other than put some wire around the edge. I tried not to strech it too much when I was gluing it down, but I think it stretched out on it's own when I was working the bubbles out. I'll probably end up putting some clear elastic around the top or somthing at the last minute, though. Ghetto power!

Jury duty on Mon, and still no sign of another booklet with instructions. There's a website I'm supposed to go to, but that shit doesn't give me the numbers I need to request days off. I need my juror number and panel number to tell them not to schedule me on my concert day or AX dates XP blaaah

I've been eating a lot of oatmeal lately. I get on oatmeal kicks. Oatmeal is good D:

I've been thinking some more about costumes to bring with me to Expo. If I bring the red mage, the hide costume, and my Yu~ki costume, those all take the same shoes D: Of course, they're the shoes that killed me at A-kon.... But those shoes have never killed me like that before, so I don't know.. Also, that Yu~ki costume has only ever been worn once, and I'd really like to wear it again. I think Ray has my white pants, though >:/ He wore them for that Tales of Symphonia costume and I don't think he's given them back. I'll have to call him. As long as that costume still fits, I'd like to get some more wear out of it. That's a lot of makeup, though... and I don't know how I would get my cane with me. I could probably cut it in half and add some screws and screw it together, but that's a lot of work XD
It would be nice to wear that outfit again, though. And it really doesn't take up that much space in the suitcase... especially considering I'd be using the same shoes for multiple other costumes. I need to make sure the top fits, though.... and I think it needs a few repairs.

Edit: I called Ray and was like "HAY YOUZ GOTS MAH PANTS?!?!" And he was like "No crackhead. You thought I was going to get them stained and nasty, so you took them away from me at the con" And I was like "ORLY?" and he was like "YARLY".. so I was like "Uh, I don't beleive you. Go look for them anyway" And he was like "whateva! whateva! I do wut I want! D:"

So then I hung up the phone and pulled my Yu~ki costume out of the closet. The pants were hung on the same hanger as the top. WTF. I'm never that organized XD So.. I called Ray up to appologize and tell him that I smoke crack for a living. The top fits beautifully. It really doesn't feel like it, but from the way it fits around the waist, I think I lost a little weight in the past two years. I find this amazingly hard to beleive because I am a tubby little lardbucket, but honestly, I'm just happy that it's not too small. Need to figure out what to do about the staff, though. Now that I see it's feasable, I really want to wear this costume again, and the staff HAS to come with. It's about 6 in too long to put in my small suitcase, though. Maybe I should use this as an excuse to buy more luggage? XD I've had these two small onces ever since I moved out and went to college. They're literally falling apart at the seams, but they've served me well. A bigger suitcase would let me fit this staff, though XD HAHA
