I've been having some really bizzare ear problems for about a week now. It started feeling kind of congested. And that happens to me sometimes, so I didn't worry about it too much. Even when it gets bad, I can take a few decongestants and it drains out within a few days. So, I waited a few days to see what would happen. It hasn't really gotten any better. I think I'm going to have to go to the doctor and see what's up. It's not nessesarily painful, so I didn't think it was an ear infection. But maybe it is. I don't know. It seems like I need to equalize the pressure in my ears. It feels like I'm in an airplane climbing to a higher (or lower) altitude all the time. I've been in the house the whole time, though. There's been a weird ass burning sensation in my ear canal, too. I knew I wouldn't be able to get in this weekend, but I forgot to call yesterday to make an appoitnment. We're covered through Matt's work insurance, but I have no idea where that doctor is. The plan was to call Fri/Sat, and make an appointment for Tues+... but I forgot. And they're closed today XP So I have to call tomorrow and hope I can get in soon. I took some claratinD yesterday, and I THOUGHT that helped a little.. and I even though it was feeling better earlier today, but now I don't know. XP
Help help, my ears are rioting!
I think when I go, though, I'm going to ask about that guardasil stuff, too. It's that new HPV shot that's supposed to vaccinate against 4 different strains of HPV that can cause cervical cancer. The cut off age is 26, though... so we'll see if they'll take me AT 26. I guess once you get too much older, your chances of having been exposed to those strains of the virus are so large that the vaccination does no good. I'm going to ask about it anyway, though, since I'm pretty curious about it. It seems like a pretty major breakthrough in women's health to me, so is it weird I first heard about it through a commercial?
My stamina on oboe is totally sucking XP I need lots more practice. Even after 30-45min, my embeshoure is sucking and I'm pinching the reed shut by accident. There's still so much ground I need to cover to catch up, though. I managed to find a few sheets of my old solo& ensemble stuff, so that should be a lot more fun than the beginner's book I'd been working out of. I may just need to force myself and sit through the beginner's book to get my fingers back. I don't know. It's like.. when I'm not paying attention, I can almost get those fingers to fly automatically. But then, I'll get hooked up on a note on the sheet that I don't remember the exact fingering for, and I'll lose it all and have to sit in front of the fingering chart remembering my sharps and flats and crap for another 5 min. It's driving me nuts, because I KNOW I can play better than I am right now, and I am getting impatient with re-learning everything XP
I'm still having fun with it, though. And I hope that soon, I'm not too embarassed to play it when Matt is home XD I promised I would't play when he was home until I thought I sounded a little better than a dying duck. I do need to go buy a music stand, though. It's somthing I'd kind of overlooked when I picked up the oboe, but it's somthing I sorely need. Right now, my posture is out of whack while trying to look wherever I've propped the music up at.
Oh yeah! And you guys should post that meme up in your journals. I had a lot of fun doing it for Bevo, which was why I posted it in mine. Doesn't seem like too many people are playing, though. I'd like to answer it for some of you guys if you put it up in your journals D: It wouldn't be as much fun if I just went around DOING it, because you'd know that I was the only crazy one running around doing that. And that takes all the fun out of guessing
