I have to admit, I was a little dissappointed by the CG tossed around. The characters themselves look awesome.. and it's so neat to see some of the manga characters animated.. and animated so well. But the random bits of CG thrown in (like guns, bullets, etc) is a huge turn off. It's hard to get immersed in a series when there are things that look like they don't belong, because they don't have the same texture, etc. I would not want to see Hellsing as a full 3-D OAV, and I don't like the partial CG mixed in. Yes, I do realize that most shows are animated on computer now, but it's different. It's coloring and sequencing and stuff like that, not fully rendered objects, right? I feel that the story and the plot for this particular show already has enough going for it. They don't need a CG gimmick, such as Blue Sub N. 6, or mecha shows... Though.. The mecha shows, IMO, really benefit from the CG. And I guess it's ok with shows like YuGiOh! and Duel Masters, where the creatures are wholly seperate from the characters. But yeah.
The trailer made me happy and sad at the same time.
Oh yeah.. and I remember hearing way back when....
The release date was supposed to be Dec. 9th.. then I heard it was pushed back to late december.. then today I heard it was pushed back to late january (26th or so?).. but now the Japanese website is proudly displaying..
