The Cure

Today I've been able to give some real time to listening to the new Cure box set that Akuma bought for me. It's a box set with all the B-sides and otherwise unreleased material from 1978-2001. It's a 4 disk set :O I've been very happy with it. There are a LOT of songs on here I've never heard before. The middle of the box set has an attacked booklet with a pretty comprehensive biography of the band. It's really very cool. Especially since some of these, I've only heard on cassettes copied multiple times, or bad MP3s(probably ripped from said bad cassettes other people had). It's like I'm getting a massive ammount of NEW material, but it's not as dissappointing as the REAL new material. I don't have much else to say about it. If you're a die hard cure fan, it's worth it! I'm continuously amazed by how well the B-tracks on some of these singles compliment the A-side. Subtleties in drumbeats in one song will remind me of another song.. and when I check the track list, it turns out to be the song's B-side. It's amazing!

Not much else has been happening. I rented War of the Worlds back when I rented Cannibal Holocaust and Skeleton key, but I haven't watched it yet. I'll probably watch it tonight. I'm hoping I can go see The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe tomorrow, so I need to watch my rental tonight. That way, when we go out, I can get all those rentals returned.

I still need to put up the tree. I'm actually kind of looking forward to it, but I know that will only be until I actually have to do it :P I also still have christmas shopping to do. I don't know why I bother getting it done so early, though, because I don't htink I will see most of these people until after christmas. Oh well!
