I'm hunting down a pattern to alter for a costume, and I bumped into that. It made me giggle a little bit.
Now I'm off to the fabric store for ZIPPERS!
And I might go pick up Kung-Fu hustle, too
Back from shopping. I picked up my zippers& some patterns, as well as some of my favorite brown suede-type on SALE! (30% off) at Jo Ann's today. They didn't have the silver lace I was looking for, though. I could have sworn that they were the ones that carried the gold lace that I used to trim my EGL outfit, and I really just wanted the same stuff in silver. I started to wonder if maybe I got it at Hancock's. Jo Ann's had the blue mesh ribbon I used on the EGL outfit, so it only followed that they were the ones that had the gold lace, since I thought I'd bought them in the same place...
But I figured I'd check Hancock's anyway. Hancock's didn't have it. They DID have a very young sounding baby crying it's lungs out in the back of the store, though. I say young, because it wasnt' the peircing howl of an older baby, and it really sounded like it was just faking it. but it kept at it for a goot 5-10 min >..<
I bought some white ruffled/lace/eyelet/trim/stuff, and 2 types of silver trim at Hancock's. While they didn't have what I was looking for, they had somthing that would also look nice. I also bought a spool of horsehair braid for skirts, and 5 yards of GORGEOUS fabric. I can't really describe it, but it feels almost like taffeta, but a bit stiffer, and it's a very very pretty gunmetal color. 5 yards should be enough to do somthing nice with it.
Anyway.. now that I have closures, I should be able to finish up Norn in a few more days. I should also be able to make some decent progress on N-kun's Klein costume. But, to be completely honest, I think it's the last one of the three I'm going to finish. I think I'm going to try to get most of the work done on this commission before I finish my other costumes. I know exactly what I want to do now, so it should go really quickly.
Well.. unless I get distracted again.
When I was at Hastings, I picked up Kung-Fu Hustle, and two CS Lewis books. Mere Christianity and The Screwtape Letters. :(
Since I'm very eager to read more about C.S. Lewis' views on Christianity, it's going to be hard to stay focused.
