Sewin', sewin', sewin'... >..

I don't remember burying any bodies in the floor...

But I've been hearing some awful noises all day. They are loud enough that if the cat were knocking somthing over, I'd be yelling at him for it. I don't know what's causing them, but it sounds like somthing is being dropped from a short height, and bouncing a few times before it hits the floor. I don't really know how else to describe it. It sounds the same as if the cat were knocking small plastic beads around, or somthing similar. It's coming from the air vent in the floor by the speaker, and I can't see anything in there. I swear it's driving me nuts. I've even pulled the grate up to have a better look inside, and I don't see anything out of place. I don't see any signs of decay, nothing unusual... And I was rather afraid that as soon as I pulled it up, I'd be greeted by a swarm of insects or a few large mice. I don't even see any signs of insect or animal activity in the air vent, so it's just been driving me insane. My cat can hear it. I know he can. But he's choosing to ignore it. I guess it's not coming from anything living, or he'd be camping the grate. I dont' know. It's happening randomly, too. It's, say, not just when the A/C is running, or only right after it's stopped cycling. It's just happening randomly, period. I'm going to go nuts if Akuma doesn't wake up soon.

In the mean time, I've been re-reading the chronicles of Narnia. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is coming out this Chrismas, and I'd like the story to be fresh on my mind. I know it's hardly close to Chrismas, but it's close enough to refresh oneself with a book :P

For the next three and a half weeks, I'm going to have to sew my ass off. I need to finish N-kun's Klein costume. Every weekend he visits, I spend Friday night sewing, since it's too late to go out to the wig shop& hardware stores. He spends most of Saturday with Akuma, and I don't want to pull them apart.. and then he leaves Sunday, and we don't get anything done. I did get some more sewing done on his costume this weekend, but it wasn't much. Makoto and Ringo seem to call most when he's here :P So.. the list on his costume is so long that I'm afraid I won't be able to make his staff. That really depresses me, because the staff thing was the entire reason I wanted to make that costume.
Aside from the large list to do on Klein, my Norn costume still has a long way to go. I have pink in the machine right now, so I'm working on finishing the construction of her outfit. Once I get it roughly hemmed, and make the little triangle for the under skirt, I can switch to brown thread, and get an assload more work done. Norn, also, has a long way to go. And I don't have a zipper for that outfit yet :/

In addition to these two, I've just received Emily's fabric for her EGL commission. She's pretty much giving me free reign with the design, as long as it follows a few loose guidelines. It should be fun, but I'm also really stressed about getting everything done on time. I need to get off my ass on that commission, and struggle to have it done within the next two weeks. I need to hurry up and decide on fabrics, and decide on a small commission fee, and get her a quote. I really don't see it costing her more than 30 bucks total, since she's supplying some of the fabric already. It should be really cheap.... I'm thinking about waiving my commission fee to ask her a favor, but I want to discuss things with her to see how she feels about it. It's not really a big deal, but it's a little personal for me. After I talk to her about it, I'll tell you guys what is going on there.

I made okonomiyaki this weekend. It turned out ok. I think it was a little too doughy. It was the first time I made it, and I think that maybe I didn't have enough water in the batter mix. Thankfully, though, all the seafood was cooked all the way through. I was so thrilled about finding real okonomiyaki sauce at the asian market last week that I had to try it out right away. The recipe I have for the sauce sounds kinda nasty, so I'm glad I found the real thing. But.. you know.. my recipie for the okonomiyaki said that you also customarily put mayo on the top of those things, too.. which sounded kinda gross to me... but it all turned out quite nice. I was afraid it was going to turn out decidedly skanky.. but it didn't!!

Anyway... off to sew& work :O
