First Anniversary.. paper clocks?

I think the first anniversary is paper, right?
Hmm.. well... we didn't follow that, as you guys have probably already read. Leather jackets, yup!
We were going to do stuff today... go out and see a movie, go out to eat, etc, but we didn't do any of it.
We did try the cake, though.
I had the traditional top layer of the wedding cake in my freezer for the past year.
Um... what can I really say about it?
The frosting was good... but.. oh my god.
I haven't eaten somthing so nasty in a long time. I won't lie. Time was not kind to that cake. I think part of the problem was the fact that we don't have the best freezer. So.. the cake was freezerburned. I guess. I don't know. It wasn't discolored. However...
The cake tasted of the poorest quality rime you could manage to scrape off the bottom of the freezer and jam down your gullet. In one word: "Ughh"
I threw it away. Thankfully, we still had two peices of Akuma's birthday ice-cream cake left in the freezer to get that horrid taste out of our mouthes.
I'm kind of sad.. but at least now it's not in the freezer anymore. It's in the trash, being gross someplace where it can't hurt us anymore. We now have more room in the freezer, too.

Due to a wonderful monthly thing that happens to women, I've been loath to do any sort of aerobic excersizes today. I hope I can forgive myself later when I am feeling better and mentally beating myself up over not sticking to my workout schedule.

I finished reading Blood Canticle today. It was the latest Anne Rice vampire book. There were many things I didn't really like about it.. and I think most of it came with the mixing of Mayfair lore with vampire lore. Lestat brings me back book after book, though. I can't help myself. Even when he spent a few years passed out, the mere mention of his name would satisfy my curiosity for that book... and now he's awake and kicking again. The style of this story seems kind of disjointed with a new narrative method that I'm not sure I like.. but she seemed to slip back into her old writing patterns toward the end of the book. It's old and comfortable, and it's like a favorite shirt for the readers to slip into.
Thoughts on Blood Canticle: Damn. If I were Lestat, I would have torched Mona.

Yeah. That's about it. I hate Mona. I really have not found a single female character from any of Anne Rice's books that I thought were really well fleshed out and normal. Her guys seem to experience this wide range of emotions, and all the females I've read have been victim to one sort of mental illness or another that defines the entire character. Is it too much to ask for a female character I actually like?

Actually.. I take that back. In blackwood farm, some women with mental issues were introduced that I actually liked. Yes, they had some form of mania or another, but I actually liked one or two of them. Too bad they're not really main characters T..T

Anyway...I can't type much anymore. My fingers hurt. I can't seem to keep a decent set of fingernails on me to save my life. If my fingers arn't bleeding, my fingernails seem to be too long. Not by choice.. I don't know why I can't stop biting them. I'm miserable. Oh well. Work tomorrow. That'll feel good on the exposed finger-nerve-things.

Yaaaay! The con is over! Time to get ready for the next one! Sometimes, twitter just cannot contain all the things I want to say about a subject.…

  • Oh wow, I haven't blogged in forever!

I kind of forget about Livejournal now. It feels so empty that I've joined a bunch of communities, but it's not really helping! Since November,…

  • November is almost over already?!?!

I've really enjoyed not having anything important to do for a while. I've been cleaning (a little bit), quilting (a lot, but in short bursts), and…
