First Anniversary.. paper clocks?
I think the first anniversary is paper, right?
Hmm.. well... we didn't follow that, as you guys have probably already read. Leather jackets, yup!
We were going to do stuff today... go out and see a movie, go out to eat, etc, but we didn't do any of it.
We did try the cake, though.
I had the traditional top layer of the wedding cake in my freezer for the past year.
Um... what can I really say about it?
The frosting was good... but.. oh my god.
I haven't eaten somthing so nasty in a long time. I won't lie. Time was not kind to that cake. I think part of the problem was the fact that we don't have the best freezer. So.. the cake was freezerburned. I guess. I don't know. It wasn't discolored. However...
The cake tasted of the poorest quality rime you could manage to scrape off the bottom of the freezer and jam down your gullet. In one word: "Ughh"
I threw it away. Thankfully, we still had two peices of Akuma's birthday ice-cream cake left in the freezer to get that horrid taste out of our mouthes.
I'm kind of sad.. but at least now it's not in the freezer anymore. It's in the trash, being gross someplace where it can't hurt us anymore. We now have more room in the freezer, too.

Due to a wonderful monthly thing that happens to women, I've been loath to do any sort of aerobic excersizes today. I hope I can forgive myself later when I am feeling better and mentally beating myself up over not sticking to my workout schedule.

I finished reading Blood Canticle today. It was the latest Anne Rice vampire book. There were many things I didn't really like about it.. and I think most of it came with the mixing of Mayfair lore with vampire lore. Lestat brings me back book after book, though. I can't help myself. Even when he spent a few years passed out, the mere mention of his name would satisfy my curiosity for that book... and now he's awake and kicking again. The style of this story seems kind of disjointed with a new narrative method that I'm not sure I like.. but she seemed to slip back into her old writing patterns toward the end of the book. It's old and comfortable, and it's like a favorite shirt for the readers to slip into.
Thoughts on Blood Canticle: Damn. If I were Lestat, I would have torched Mona.

Yeah. That's about it. I hate Mona. I really have not found a single female character from any of Anne Rice's books that I thought were really well fleshed out and normal. Her guys seem to experience this wide range of emotions, and all the females I've read have been victim to one sort of mental illness or another that defines the entire character. Is it too much to ask for a female character I actually like?

Actually.. I take that back. In blackwood farm, some women with mental issues were introduced that I actually liked. Yes, they had some form of mania or another, but I actually liked one or two of them. Too bad they're not really main characters T..T

Anyway...I can't type much anymore. My fingers hurt. I can't seem to keep a decent set of fingernails on me to save my life. If my fingers arn't bleeding, my fingernails seem to be too long. Not by choice.. I don't know why I can't stop biting them. I'm miserable. Oh well. Work tomorrow. That'll feel good on the exposed finger-nerve-things.

Well, I think that if you wanted to save your cake, it could taste pretty good. We should have looked into getting some people to preserve it properly for us, though.
I remember when I went to that bridal show at the convention center, they had all sorts of people who could preserve your wedding dress or wedding bouquet.. I'm sure there are people who freeze dry cakes or something.

heero comments, see :P
Our wedding cake haunted our freezer, (then I think our FRIDGE) for like... 3-4 YEARS. We tried the year later thing, it was "ok" but not super good. After that it just got scarier and scarier until it made us fear for our very lives and we were forced to expel it to the dumpster. (actually, I was just sick of having it in there taking up appliance space when we get so many groceries that'd sit there better)
Anyway, best to try it for amusement and then move on, seems like you're doing that well. :9

Wedding Cake a Year Later
Ours wasn't horrid, it had a funny aftertaste. The frosting was better than the actual cake part. Although, I don't really have any actual tips for storing it. We wrapped it in saran wrap first, then aluminum foil to prevent it from being inadvertently squashed.

It would have been better drowned in ice cream, but I don't know what kind of marriage omen THAT would have been! *lol*

No.. Quinn does shack up with Mona. Lestat gives her to him and they start this grand journey to find any remaining Taltos. Quinn becomes kind of the peacekeeper between Lestat and Mona, as I would have liked to see him torch that bitch.
Quinn wasn't the focus of this book, really. It was Mona's bitchy quest to cry in as many different locations as possible and snap at Lestat for no reason.
Lestat decides he is in love with Rowan, and those are about the main parts of the book.
Oh yeah. Patsy comes back as a ghost and haunts Blackwood manor for a bit.
