UGH!!!!!!!!!!
Well, since I found out they were sold out, I called immediately to see if there were any cancelations ora waiting list or somthing.
I was able to get a room with two double beds, but I didn't get the 115.00 a night con rate It was a lot more >..< Suck. Ah well. At least this makes cosplay easier.

well, they may also be able to switch it over to the con rate when you check in.

They did that for us, but it was only for one night, but still....because there will probably BE cancellations.

And also, you might want to talk to the Hotel Liason, since technically A-kon is supposed to have that ENTIRE hotel, except for a few emergency rooms, at it's disposal. Of course, the hotel doesn't view it that way at all, but....the hotel irriates me.

Well, the technicalites are weird... yes, the entire hotel is allotted to A-Kon for the weekend, but by law there is supposed to be a block of rooms left open for people who need to stay at that hotel but aren't going to teh con at all, especially for people stranded at the airport due to delayed flights. (At Itzacon, I watched as a plane's entire passenger group had to check in to that hotel, insanity) So, those non-convention rooms are all that's left. So as far as the convention goes, it's completely sold out.

If the hotel weren't in an airport, it wouldn't be nearly as big an issue.

Re:
*nods*

well, that and if you add in that the people at the Hyatt are just...irritating...
(after Katsucon I decided it is a chain-wide trait. In order to be a Hyatt you must be irriating)

Of course, the other thing is, as the con approaches there will be cancellations (hopefully) so that is why it is always worthwhile to ask, and bat eyelashes, about getting the con rate. Also depending on the desk person, and how dire you sound.

I'd offer you a hotel room, as we have two, but we are using them both, so...

Re:
Offer it to me? or Kyo no Miko?

I never worry about the room issue, because I get littel sleep, and when I do, I usually get volunteer crashspace, bum a corner from any friends that have plenty of floorspace, or got o my car, depending on what is most convenient when the need for sleep attacks.
