Progress again! Gee.. I'm feeling so... productive O..o
Working on the knuckle bits some more. If everything goes well, they should be done today. I know I said that yesterday, but it got colder yesterday! In any case.. everything's set on them now. Now I get to do lots of sanding... except..

One of the spikes broke off first thing when I was sanding. I sanded the other three quite a bit last night, and they didn't budge.. but one snapped off. So.. I'll need to mix some more bondo. I want to re-inforce all the cracks and connecting bits anyway.. which will be a great deal more sanding to get them to look good, but at least they'll be sturdy. I've been using a dremel bit to sand around the bases. It wouldn't be a problem with the hand sander, but the tape is starting to shake loose, and I can't seem to get the sand paper to sit still for some reason. (I guess that's what I get for ghetto-rigging the sander.. but I'm not paying $1.00 per velcro-pad w/sandpaper for this beast! I go through it so fast with the bondo!)In any case.. I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to paint these tonight! If I get them painted, They'll be finished in no time.. and then I can worry about how to attach them. (The magic 8-ball says super glue will be spiffy.. HAHAHAH)

Ohhh! And my sexy sexy PVC boots came in. T..T They're so beautiful.. and they fit on my calves! It's a wonder! Even when I was thinner, I had problems getting boots&things over my calves (they're awfully muscular. I remember leg-pressing 200lbs w/o too much trouble back in highschool) That's why it's going to break my heart to tear them apart for the sake of cosplay :(
Though.. the shoe is attached very firmly to the sole, and I'm still not entirely certain I want to try to rip it off so I can tuck the suede underneath. After all.. if I fold over the edges and finish it with a nice-looking stitch, as long as I attach it evenly to the shoe, no one will know the difference, right? right? T..T
Oh.. if only I could find some way to get around destroying them! These shoes were pretty much a once-in-a-time catch on ebay.. and I got them for a good price.. so if it wern't for the fact that I've fallen head-over-heels in love with them, I'd be able to cut them up guilt-free. But.. in defence of the shoes-to be.... once they look like this.. they'll also be perfect for this. -..-** Though I swear to GOD they are purple in the game....AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH
THEY'RE GOING TO BE PURPLE FOR MY COSTUME, DAMMNIT! o..o It's ok if they're purple, right?

I really need another costume these shoes will work for.. XD It's hard enough having to cut them up and turn them purple suede.. lol

Bwa ha ha, we are mad with power, Weapons Policy! XD It seems a shame to only make a hilt. And I swear the shoes were purple, that strange teal color is way out of left field. Go with purple. The giant-ass bird we'll be killing to strap to your hat will distract everyone anyway! XD

heee Weapons policy!
Well.. the more I think about it, the more I think maybe I want the sheath w/o a hilt. I mean... It'll give the same appearance, and obviously be empty. I mean.. I don't really NEED a sword, and I guess I don't really need a sword hilt attached to a sheath/scabbard/whatever, either. I think that if I have an empty scabbard, it'll give the same appearance and make life easier on security.

And as for my bird! HAHA! As long as I can get it from the florists in time.. life will be good. I'll probably go to nice Mr. Reed (the man who owns the flower shop I'm getting my wedding flowers from) and see what he things about that. I don't know how long they keep, either...
But, I'm going to try my best to match it in feathers first.. and then I'd like to put a bird of paradise up there on my head anyway.. HAHAHAHA
